A True Friend -- for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede. This week's challenge is "3's a crowd" (use three of anything on your project).  Woohoo!  Fun theme!

I used QKR Stampede sentiment digi12010 as the focal point of this card.
I used:
3 patterned papers (by Close To My Heart)
a cluster of 3 flowers (Oriental Trading Co.)
3 brass colored brads (CTMH)
The Outdoor Denim card base is also CTMH.
I think this challenge is a great one, and I hope you will join us at QKR Stampede!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

It's Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
It's Friday, and I'm posting today for 3 Girl JAM.  Since it's Halloween, and the last day of our Halloween Challenge, I thought I would post one last "spooky" project.

I thought these black bats looked pretty wicked with a pop of orange trim.  The 3 Girl JAM store has some new 1/8 " diagonal striped ribbon.  I LOVE all the colors!  Want some of this ribbon for yourself?  Eyeing some other goodies in the store?  Use code JO10 for 10% off anything in the 3 Girl JAM store.
This shaped card is from Snapdragon Snippets. You can find it HERE in the Silhouette Design Store.

I've been working hard, trying to get enough cards made for the residents in my nursing home, so I often made 2 of the same design.  Today is the day I get to distribute all the cards I've made.  Can't wait!

Let's Talk Turkey!

I'm guest designing today for Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station, and am very pleased to have the opportunity to do so! Thanks to Anne and Thia for this chance to use these great digis!I was on the Get Inky! design team last year, and enjoyed working with Anne and Thia very much!
It's not quite Halloween, but Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Today, I'm talking turkey....

Now, this is a colorful, spoiled turkey!  You gotta love that sentiment!  I used a digi set from BMMC.  You can find this in the Digi Digi Doodle Etsy Shop HERE.
I colored the turkey with Copic markers, concentrating on the fantastic tail, because, after all, he IS a spoiled turkey, so he HAS to look GOOD!
I used 2 sizes of the Spellbinders die #38 on this card, wrapping it in Tuxedo Black Timeless Twine. The designer papers are from Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather 6x6 pad (available through the Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station!)  The card base is Kraft card stock from Close To My Heart.
This cute little digi was very fun to work with -- simple to color, and loaded with possibilities!  Again, thanks to BMCCS for the chance to guest design today!

Penguins on the North Pole? for Digital Delights

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at Delightful Challenges.  This week's theme is "Swirls & Curls."  Fun, Huh?
Here's what I did for the challenge:

This cute image is 'Pickles the Penguin', available in the Digital Delights by Louby Loo store. It is available in colored and uncolored versions.  I chose the uncolored version, and colored it myself with Copic markers.
The die cut card, papers, rhinestone swirl, and glitter tape are all from Close To My Heart.
Our sponsor this week is Your or Mine Paper Crafts.

Did you know there are no penguins on the North Pole?  This penguin is very lost!

Christmas cards with Zing! for DigiStamps4Joy

Hello, and happy Wednesday.  It's time for a new challenge at DigiStamps4Joy. We're starting everyone's favorite today -- Anything goes.
In my quest to get plenty of Christmas cards made before the season arrives, I made 2 very similar cards using the same DigiStamps4Joy digi for today's challenge.  I also went a bit overboard with patterned papers.  These cards are VERY busy!

The digi I used is called Christmas Paper.  It also works very well as background paper.
The designer papers are from My Mind's Eye, and I used many of them on here.  I got some new stitched snowflake dies from Lawn Fawn and I tried them out on this card.  The card base is Kraft card stock from Close To My Heart.  I inked the edges of all the papers with CTMH Desert Sand ink.
Here's card # 2 -- it is just a little different:

Come join our Anything Goes challenge at DigiStamps4Joy.  You have 2 weeks to link up anything!

Fight Like a Girl! for Amy Doodle Stamp Co.

It's Tuesday, and this is turning into my day to post for the new Amy Doodle Stamp Company.  I have a more serious card to share today.  Amy made a set of 2 digis, and a portion of the sales will go the MPN Research Foundation.
Cancer has affected many people.  My mother died of a malignant brain tumor 9 years ago.  She struggled for 1 1/2 years with it.  I learned about courage, and hope, and letting go without loving less.  This card is for HER.

At one point in her treatment, all her hair fell out, and she wore a scarf just like this one -- same color, matching her blue eyes.  Later, her hair grew back, and it was super curly.  She loved it that way! It was about the only 'nice' thing that happened -- fun hair!
Here are the 2 Brave Chick stamps (1 set)...

The ribbon-shaped card is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.
Brave Chick was colored with Copic markers, then fussy cut.
Designer papers are from Basic Grey. The sentiment is part of the Brave Chick stamp set.
Here's the Copic colors I used:

I miss you, Mom.
Please visit the Amy Doodle Facebook page each day this week to see what this talented design team has done with this thought-provoking stamp set.
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Hello, and happy Monday!  I have the pleasure of posting today for Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz.  I love it when I can get out my pretty twines and the fun products in the Bella Creationz Etsy shop and be creative!  Since Halloween is just around the corner, I used the great Bella Creationz Halloween Embellishment kit to create this:

Everything used to make this can be found in the Bella Creationz store:

These mini treat cups are so fun! And with all the goodies in the Halloween Embellishment Kit, the possibilities to decorate them are endless!

Thankful -- for Eureka Stamps

Join us this week for our "Buttons & Bows" challenge at Eureka Stamps.

I chose to work with one of my favorite signs of nature, and a new digi from Riette Gasser:

I've always loved rainbows, so I was so excited to have a chance to work with this digi! I colored the rainbow with Close To My Heart water based markers.  I printed it twice, fussy cutting the clouds, then using 3D foam tape on them.  The fussy cut sun is a stamp from Close To My Heart.  The sentiment is from Paper Wishes.  Papers are from My Mind's Eye.
Check out all the great digis released today at DigiStamps4Joy -- you won't be disappointed!

Best Fishes -- for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede.  This week's theme is "Under/By the Sea."  Well, living in land-locked Wisconsin, this one challenged me a bit!
After some thought, here's the direction I went:

I used the QKR Stampede image (digi22002) 'Goldfish' for this card.  I sized them at various sizes and colored them with Copic markers.  Designer paper and card stock is from Close To My Heart.  The glitter paper is from American Crafts.  The green ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used 2 Spellbinders dies on this card. The sentiment is computer generated.
Join us this week for our "Under/By the Sea" challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

U Rock -- for Delightful Challenges

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at Delightful Challenges.  This week's theme is "Three's a Crowd" (use 3 of the same embellishment).  I have the most adorable digi image to share with you today!

I used 'Driving Mister Scottie' as the focal point of this card. He's available in either uncolored or colored in the Digital Delights by Louby Loo Store.  I colored him with Copic markers. I used the License Plate Love Sentiment Set for the 'U-Rock' license plate.
Papers for this card are from Close To My Heart, as are the brass studs. I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the image.
Our sponsor this week is Cut N Paste Memories.  The prize will be announced.
Join us this week for Delightful Challenge's 3's a Crowd challenge.

Orange, Black, Cats -- it must be Halloween! for Snapdragon Snippets

Hello, and happy hump day!  How did it get to be Wednesday already? I hope you are having a great week! I am posting today for Snapdragon Snippets.  They have soon many great designs!  The hardest part of this assignment was narrowing down what to make. Since I'm on a quest to get at least 50 Halloween cards made for my nursing home residents, I knew I wanted to make some cards.  Here's what I did....
This first card is the SDS Halloween Black Cat Rocker Card (Silhouette Online Store). It is also available as part of the JGW Bewitched Bootique kit at SVG Attic. OR, you can look for this file in the BRAND NEW Snapdragon Snippets Store!
It was very fun to put together, with it's various layers to cut and assemble.  There is a tutorial here that can help also.
I also made two very easy cards -- 5 minute assembly.  You gotta love that!

These cards are the SDS Candy Corn Card, found in the Silhouette Online Store.  They can also be found at SVG Attic as part of the Spooky Cards set.
Here's one more look at a Candy Corn card-- simple, but really cute!

Halloween is almost here.  I better get my craft on!

Peace at Christmas

I've been participating in the DigiStamps4Joy progressive challenge since I joined the team in February. It has definitely helped me get some Christmas cards made ahead of the season.  I used this month's free digi to make 2 cards.  They look very similar, but if you look at the placement of the poinsettias, it is 2 different cards:

This digi is one of 3 sentiments.  I just love this saying!
The flowers are stamped and cut with a set from Heartfelt Creations.  I used inks and a water brush over them.  Papers, brads, and inks are from Close To My heart.
I'm entering this in the following challenges:
DigiStamps4Joy Christmas Challenge -- Oct.
Decosse's Dynamite Doodles -- 12 months of Christmas Cards link up

Fab Shoes! for Amy Doodle Stamp Co.

Hello, and happy Tuesday, crafty friends!  I'm super excited to be posting today as my first official post on the Amy Doodle Stamp Co. design team!  These digis are just soooo cute and fun to color!

I got together with two of my best friends for lunch yesterday and wanted to take treat boxes with some chocolate in them for a small gift.  This digi worked perfectly!

This delightful witch is called "Witchy Wilda". I colored her with Copic markers, using some unusual skin tones and hair color (unless, of course, you are a witch!) She is stylin', though, with that fab hat and those SHOES!
I cut her out on a Spellbinder die and mounted it on a treat box that I cut out on my Cricut.  I used the Cricut Close To My Heart Artiste cartridge.  The designer papers are by DCWV.  The sequins are from Simon Says Stamp. I used 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon to tie the box together.
You'll be seeing lots more wonderful fun from Amy Doodle Stamp Company.  Check out the Facebook group, too! We have lots of fun and there's learning and encouragement going on there also.

Dream -- guest designing for Path of Positivity

I'm guest designing again today for he Path of Positivity Challenge blog, and I am excited for the opportunity! This month's theme is 'courage'.
The sponsor this month is Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I chose a beautiful butterfly image to work with for today's card and created this:

The Sparkle N Sprinkle butterfly digi was a joy to color with Copic markers.

The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.
I believe that following one's dreams takes incredible courage.  To have a dream, then dare to live that dream, is the definition of courage!  Monarch butterflies, migrating thousands of miles each spring and fall, are as courageous as it gets.  Butterflies = courage!
Come join the "courage" challenge this month at Path of Positivity Challenge Blog.

Happy Halloooooween! for Eureka Stamps

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps Challenge blog.  This week's theme is 'orange & purple'. With that theme, I HAD to go with Halloween!

I used two Eureka digi Stamps on this card: digi10103(431) -- Halloween Border and digi3907 -- Happy Halloween.  The designer paper s from DCWV.  Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Card stock is from Close To My Heart.  The bats were cut out on my Silhouette, using a file from the Silhouette Online Store.
Join us this week at Eureka Stamps for our Orange and Purple challenge.

Thankful -- for Whoopsi Daisy

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge blog. This week, our theme is 'Lots of Embellishments'.  I don't usually over embellish things, so this was truly a 'challenge' for me.  Here's what I did:

I used Linnie Bloom's sheet 414 for on this card. I colored her with Copic markers, then sponged the edges while it was still in the Spellbinder die with a couple colors of Tim Holtz distress inks (Spun Sugar and Dusty Rose).
I used lots of layers on this card - layers of paper, then chipboard flowers with layers of color on them.
The chipboard flowers are from UmWow Studio and they are covered with Liquid Pearls.  The sentiment was cut off the edge of a 12x12 piece of paper -- it's from Bella Blvd (all the designer paper is for this card).
Come join the 'Lots of Embellishments' challenge at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge blog.

Frogs, Vellum, and Birthdays -- for Fitztown

Hello, crafty friends, and happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Fitztown.  For the next 2 weeks, we want you to use some vellum.
My husband's birthday was a couple days ago, and he loves tree frogs, so I used a wonderful Fitztown image to make him a birthday card:

The tree frog digi is one of a set of 4, found in the Etsy Shop, Morgan's Fae World.  I colored the frog with Copic markers, fussy & cut it.  I stamped a pocket on designer paper and fussy cut that.  The pocket stamp is part of a Unity Stamp Company Stamp of the Month kit.  I placed the frog on top of the pocket, stamped my sentiment on vellum, and placed it on top of the pocket. The sentiment is a stamp by CTMH
The designer papers are by Bella Blvd.  The Kraft card stock base is by Carta Bella. That fun new chevron punch along the bottom is from Close To My Heart.
Do you like to use vellum?  Do you find it a challenge?  Either way, find your stash and join us for the next 2 weeks at Fitztown!

Shake your Spook? for The Cutting Cafe

It's Sunday, a day off! Yea!  I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  I am posting today for The Cutting Cafe.  The design team is posting Fall or Halloween themed projects this week.  I chose to work with the Halloween and Fall Shaker card files.  I knew I wanted to make a shaker card.  The hardest part of this assignment was figuring out which one I wanted to make!
If you've been following my blog at all, you know I'm busy making Halloween cards for my nursing home residents, hoping to get at least 50 made by Oct. 31.  We have several residents who are legally blind.  One lady can see shapes and shadows, but no details.  I thought a shaker card with a shape to it would be perfect for her!

I think she'll be able to feel that this is a ghost, just from the shape.  And, there's enough contrast with the colors, she'll see the black, white, and light blue.
I used vellum for a more ethereal, spooky look and some Halloween sequins from Bella Creationz for the shaker part of the card.  I know Betsy will hear those sequins when she shakes the card, and that will make her giggle!
The bats are from the Silhouette Online Store.  The "boo" sentiment are alphabet stickers from Echo Park, as is the designer paper. The Orange Licorice twine is from Timeless Twine. I used lots of 3D foam tape from Close To My Heart to assemble this Ghost shaker card.
I hope you visit the Cutting Cafe blog on Oct. 21st to see all the wonderful inspiration for the rest of the talented design team.  Leave a comment and you'll have a chance to win ANY 3 files of your choice!

Happy Friday, crafty friends!  Have you heard of Amy Doodle Stamp Company?  Well, you soon will!  I discovered it several weeks ago, while spending time on the Kit and Clowder Facebook Page, and I was instantly enthralled.  Amy Purdie draws the most delightful digital images!  Let me show you!

This image was a freebie I got from the Kit N Clowder Facebook Group (did I mention Amy is generous, too?)
I colored this Autumn Fairy with Copic markers, using a Wink of Stella glitter pen on her wings and on the berries in her wreath.  I sponged several colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink around the edges of the image while it was still in the Spellbinder label die.
Papers for this card are from Close To My Heart.  Ribbon and jute are from 3 Girl JAM.  Skittles are by my friend Carri at Double Click Connections. The stickpin was made by another friend, Jess, from Pinque Peacock
Make sure you check out the Amy Doodle Stamp Company. There are more wonderful stamps being added all the time. And, there's a fun Amy Doodle Stamp Co. Facebook Page, too! Now, get coloring!

Pink Hope -- Breast Cancer Awareness -- for Delightful Challenges

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at Delightful Challenges. This week, we are to use our favorite color.  I chose to use pink, one of my favorites to color with, and since this is October, also very popular for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This sweet bear is called "Pink Ribbon Boo Boo Bear", and can be found in the Digital Delights store.  I colored the bear with Copic markers, then used a couple Spellbinder dies on it.  The designer paper and brad are from My Mind's Eye.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
One of the residents in the nursing home where I work has a daughter struggling with breast cancer.  I am going to give this card to my resident so she can give it to her daughter.  I think they both will like that.  This daughter will not win her fight with breast cancer.  She and her mom are walking a very difficult road right now.  They are showing incredible courage and strength.

A Tribute to Sammy - for DigiStamps4Joy

When I made this card a couple weeks ago for the new "animal" challenge starting today on the DigiStamps4Joy challenge blog, I had no idea it would end as a tribute to my wonderful dog, Sammy.
My Golden Retriever, Sammy, age 9, died Oct 9, 2014, from 2 cancerous tumors.  He will be missed more than words can say.  This card sums up my feelings for him:
This was one of the first images I fell in love with when joining the DigiStamps4Joy design team.  It is so sweet, and takes me back to my childhood.
This digi is called "best friends" and is drawn by Margy.  She is so good at animal images!
I colored the image with Copic markers. The sentiment is computer generated.
Sammy  and I liked to sit on the front deck together, watching the world go by. I would usually sit with my arm around him, like this image.  Wherever I went, he was with me.  He often laid at my feet, keeping them warm.  I will miss my boy for a long, long time.
The designer paper is from Fancy Paper -- Summer's End. I used a Spellbinder's Label die in 2 sizes, and a We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The heart chipboard is also from Fancy Pants.
I found a couple of my favorite pictures of my husband and Sammy. They are just finishing up a run together. It didn't matter the season or the weather -- they were out there together.

Halloween Treat Bag -- for Timeless Twine

If you've been visiting my blog at all, you know I've been busy making Halloween cards for the residents in the nursing home where I work.  Today, I made a project for a lady who is blind, so I took a bit of a different approach.
I'm posting today on the Timeless Twine blog, and I thought twine would be the perfect texture for her.  She loves tactile things.  Twine is a wonderful thing to touch and stroke and hang on to. This particular lady also loves her chocolate, so I think this will work just fine:

I used Orange Licorice Timeless Twine to wrap around the handle, and on the bow.
There's also Halloween sequins to add some more texture to this bag.

The pumpkin bag is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe. I cut it out on my Silhouette Cameo. I used card stock from Close To My Heart. I'm going to fill it with a variety of chocolates for my sweet nursing home friend.

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Does She Look Distressed? For Whoopsi Daisy

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge Blog.  This week's theme is "distressed".
I chose to sand the edges of all my papers to get a distressed look.  Somehow, though, I don't think my darlin' girl looks distressed at ALL!

I used Linnie Blooms sheet 463 on this distressed card. I colored it with Copic markers.
The papers are some retired papers from Close To My Heart.  The ribbon and jute are from 3 Girl JAM.
I used Fall colors on this so she'd be fashionably chic and ready for the season.
Please join us this week at Whoopsi Daisy Challenges.

Oh, Nuts! for Eureka Stamps

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge on the Eureka Stamps challenge blog.  This week's theme is one of my all-time favorites: shaped cards.  I just love to make shaped cards -- the possibilities are endless, so I had so much fun with this one!
I used Eureka Stamps digi 16301 (Nutty Squirrel) and digi 16105(228) "Oh, Nuts" on this card.  I colored the Nutty Squirrel with Copic markers.  The papers are from Close To My Heart.  The leaf-shaped chipboard is from UmWow Studio, and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
This acorn-shaped card is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out.  I also used a Spellbinder die for the shape behind the squirrel.
